Hermes Personal Data Broker
Private personal-data sidecar

A private broker for one person's Google data.

Hermes Personal Data Broker is a self-hosted sidecar service operated by Matt Povey. It lets the Hermes personal assistant access selected Google Account data only after OAuth consent and only for private, single-user workflows.

The broker exists to keep personal data behind a narrow boundary. Hermes talks to the broker API; Google OAuth tokens and synced personal-data stores remain in the broker environment.

Gmail Read-only search and recent-mail context, plus Gmail Draft creation through a separate compose token and explicit confirmation flow.
Calendar and Tasks Calendar lookup, free/busy availability, calendar draft actions, and Google Tasks reads or draft-confirm writes for personal scheduling.
Boundary first No public user accounts, no sale of data, no advertising use, and no use of Google user data to train general AI models.

What this app is for

The app supports personal assistant workflows such as finding relevant email threads, checking calendar availability, preparing email drafts, and helping Matt Povey reason about personal scheduling and tasks.
